Summer, a former dog groomer with 13 years of experience, has been dedicated to her role as a veterinary assistant since 2019. Currently pursuing online courses to become a Registered Veterinary Technician, Summer balances her studies with quality time spent with her daughters, whether they’re enjoying the outdoors, catching a movie, or cooking at home. A Colts fan, she loves watching football and has a fondness for breakfast food—no matter the time of day.
Mental and physical health advocacy is a cause close to Summer’s heart. In honor of her late father, a veterinarian, she volunteers with the Indiana Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Her background as a kickboxing trainer keeps her strong and ready to assist with larger dogs, and she maintains a workout routine to stay fit.
Summer’s latest passion is volunteering with Rock Steady Boxing, a program for adults with Parkinson’s Disease. She’s eager to learn more about the condition and the positive impact of boxing on its patients. An active member of Traders Point Christian Church, Summer finds inspiration in the weekly messages, which help her navigate her busy and fulfilling life.
Looking ahead, Summer is excited about the opportunities for growth and continuing education at Community Pet Healthcare as she works toward becoming an RVT. While she hasn’t yet decided on a specialization, she is enthusiastic about the possibilities her future holds.
