Rehabilitation Pledge

1. To provide the best experience possible for you and your pet during the rehabilitation process, Indy Pet CORE created the following Pledge. We are dedicated to providing excellent healing care for your pet across many modalities, guided by the values of Compassion, Determination, Balance, Achievement, and Knowledge. In return, we ask for your Pledge in regard to the following points as we begin the rehabilitation process:

  • Scheduling: After the consultation, you’ll receive instructions for online booking. It is best to schedule out sessions if possible since our schedule fills up 2-3 weeks in advance. Otto messaging is our preferred method of communication but we’re also available via phone or email. If you need to reschedule a session, there is no guarantee that we will be able to reschedule the same week and the session may have to be added to the end of the package.
  • Session Presence: We want to build a relationship with your pet and have found that patients trust us more and are able to concentrate better without their owners in the building. We will be happy to take pictures or videos during a session to share with you. Feel free to remain in your car, take a walk, or grab a quick meal at a restaurant close by.
  • Punctuality: We often see patients back-to-back, therefore arriving and picking up on time is extremely important. If you are late, the session may be shortened. Appointments are 45 minutes long unless communicated otherwise.
  • Bathroom Break: Urine and feces in our underwater treadmill system will cause major delays in our schedule. Please provide opportunities for your pet to use the bathroom before their session.
  • Hygiene: We ask that your pet arrive for their sessions reasonably groomed, with no feces or urine on their coat. If your pet has diarrhea, fleas, skin infection, UTI, or an open wound please communicate with our team so we can assess if we need to reschedule their session.
  • Treats: If your pet likes a certain type of treat or has a food allergy, please bring a bag with their name on it to be stored here.
  • Leash/Harness: Harnesses are strongly recommended, but not required. PETS MUST BE ON LEASH OR IN A CARRIER WHEN ENTERING THE LOBBY AND OUTSIDE.
  • Medications: Pain management is often crucial for optimal healing and comfort. Please do not alter any prescribed medications without consulting us first.
  • Follow-up and Progress: We will perform benchmark measurements at the midpoint and end of each package. Session reports are sent via email after each visit. Please provide us with feedback at drop-off for each session (any changes or improvements, having trouble with a home exercise, etc). If you have multiple questions or points of discussion, feel free to send these via Otto messaging before your pet’s session so we don’t cut into their session time.
  • Payments: Session packages are paid at the first session of a new package. All packages must be used within one year of purchase.
  • Refunds: Refunds are not given if services are discontinued for any reason other than death or an incurable medical condition that would not allow for sessions to continue.
  • Professional Services: Dr. Cantrell, our Rehab Veterinarian, examines, diagnoses, and prescribes treatment plans. His expertise is required at the initial consult and then if questions or complications arise during the course of rehab.

– An annual progress exam with Dr. Cantrell ($145) is required once per year if your pet is still a rehab patient to ensure their plan remains optimal. This is also necessary to maintain a valid veterinaryclient-patient relationship, which is legally required for prescribing and continuing treatment.

– If any major changes in your pet’s health occur during the course of the rehabilitation process, a progress exam may be requested by the owner or by the rehabilitation team. These changes could be, but are not limited to: lameness on another limb, a new diagnosis from another Veterinarian, an issue/diagnosis that is not improving or has changed in presentation, etc.

– Rehabilitation services are performed by our Veterinary Assistants. These team members are trained to provide rehab services and are able to answer most questions that arise during the course of rehab.

– Our Rehab Veterinarian is not always working during rehab business hours.

– If an emergency occurs while your pet is at our facility we will help facilitate their transfer to a local emergency facility equipped to handle their care
